Raising money for charity.

Hello, in year 6 and year 5, for this term, we are learning about blogging. We thought that we can tell you how much we as a school have raised for charity. We’ve raised £240.40 for Macmillan, by selling cakes in the morning. And we raised £160.00 for Children In Need by wearing mufti clothes for the day.  £124.20 was raised for poppy appeal by selling poppy appeal bands. So altogether we raised a total of £524.60!!!

Book Week

Book week!

Hello and welcome to what we do at school.  Let’s tell you about book day first. On Monday we dressed up in book costumes or characters from films. On Tuesday we had a sponsored book flip.  We had to get a book and a pan, you flipped a book as many times as you could before it dropped on the floor. On Wednesday, in the afternoon, we did a letter hunt for Authors and you had to see what book title it made.  All the letters were scrambled up.  In the end though it was very hard but fun. On Thursday, we had a puppet lady that came in to our school. It was very hard to make the puppets, we had to form the shape of the character we wanted to make. It was even harder because it was made out of foam. But on Friday we had,  a story time in the afternoon.  There was hot chocolate and biscuits. We read the book “Then” and then the second part of “Once”.

That was book week.  It was very fun.   If we could rate it out of ten, I would give book week a ten.

 Information about Yr6 sats!

Hi I’m Grace and I’m blogging about yr6 sats. It’s coming near to our sats and the time to go to new/different schools.

                                             Tips

Number 1 tip is don’t stress!. Try to stay calm, keep practicing things that you’re not sure on.

                                        Home-work!

What we do for yr6 home-work:

We (yr6’s) have our home-work books, they are really useful because they are good practice.

They cover everything from spelling and grammar, to reading and maths.

They are called Sats Busters, you might like to try and get one.
